About
Vinod Seegum is a primary school teacher with over 40 years of experience in the education sector. Renowned for his commitment to teaching and child-centered learning, he has contributed extensively to the development of quality primary education in Mauritius.
He is a former President of the Government Teachers’ Union (GTU) and a former Board Member of Comité Syndical Francophone de l’Education et de la Formation (CSFEF) as well as a member of Education International(EI). Through these roles, he has actively advocated for teachers’ professional development, education reform, and strong foundations in primary education.
In recognition of his lifelong contribution to education and public service, he was awarded the Commander of the Star and Key of the Indian Ocean (CSK).
